Indian Monument At Top of Wind Mountain

Audio file of story as told by Bobby Jones. Mp3 file only.

There was once an indian monument at the top of Wind Mountain.

As Bobby remembers Bob telling him, when Bob was a kid, around 10 years old, the monument could be seen from the ground. In WWII the Signal Corp tore it down. They had some sort of equipment at the top of Wind Mountain.  They had pack mules and they had to go to the top and change the batteries on a regular basis.

Which brought Bobby to an interesting side point. He remembers Alton telling him that Alton, Uncle Tom, and their daddy, Tom Willis Jones, rode to top of Wind Mountain on horses. Grandaddy (Alton) said they lead the horses more than they rode them.
